Competition rules 9 April 2018

We reserve the right to change the terms and conditions of the competition.

In short

All participants get a free licence to the 10Monkeys Math World learning program for the whole competition time. By playing during the competition time (Apr 9 - Jun 1, 2018) classes can win amazing prizes, and the classes who have gained the most points are competing for the main prize.

Participating in the competition is free and does not require buying the product. 

Classes compete in two categories to win prizes. The categories are Little Monkeys (grades 1-2) and Junior Monkeys (grades 3-4).

The weekly prizes are drawn from the 10 most active classes, the classes who have gained the most points during the week. Two weekly prizes are drawn every week. One is drawn from among the 10 most active classes in the first and second grade, and another is drawn among the 10 most active classes in third and fourth grade. Collecting the weekly points starts from the beginning of each week, so each week all the classes have an equal chance of winning a weekly prize. A class can win a weekly prize only one time. 

The main prize is drawn among the finalists. The finalists are the 10 most active classes, the classes who have gained the most points during the whole competition from both categories. One main prize is drawn among all 20 finalists. 

The three most active classes in each category will win a 10Monkeys Math World licence for the whole school automatically!

All the participants will receive diplomas, which are sent by email.

The main prize of the competition is 10Monkeys Math World for one year for the whole school and the winner's choice of either 5 Android tablets or 5 Chromebook computers.

1. Organizer

(In the following, “Organizer”)

 

2. Eligibility

All Canadian elementary school students in grades 1-4 are eligible to take part in the competition. The teachers sign up their classes for the competition. The competitors join the competition as a class and announce the number of students in the class. (Teachers and students are identified in the following as “Participant.”)

Note that the classes need to have at least five students. If the class is smaller, it should be combined with another class in order to participate.

 

3. Registration Time

Registration can be made any time during the competition. Registration time will end when the competition ends on Jun 1, 2018. 

 

4. Competition Time

The competition time is Apr 9 - Jun 1, 2018, from 7 am to 2 pm during weekdays.

 

5. Registration for the Competition

Registration for the competition takes place on the competition website.

All of the classes whose teachers have registered on the competition website with correct contact information will take part in the competition. Participation in the competition does not require buying the product or service. 

When participating in the competition, the Participant gives permission to publish the name of the school on the Organizer’s websites or on other commercial sites and commits to follow the rules as well as the decisions of the Organizer. 

It is possible to register for the competition during the entire competition time.

 

6. Delivery of the Username and Password

The username and password for the program will be sent one week before the competition starts to the email address the Participant gave when he/she registered. If the Participant signs up after the competition has started, the username and password will be sent within a few working days to the email address the Participant gave when he/she registered.

 

7. Main User Account 

All teachers who have signed up for the competition will have a shared school account and a personal password by which the teacher can log into the game on www.10Monkeys.com and create personal accounts for the children.

NOTE! If your school/class has participated in Number Rumble previously, the new user login details are automatically connected to the existing/old account. The teacher can use the new login details OR the existing/old login details. 

The child can log in with the account the teacher created. It's good to choose a username and password which the child can easily memorize. Only the teacher can change the password of a student account, not a student by themselves.

Through the main user account, the teacher can go to the game, evaluate the progress of the children with the evaluating tool, and manage the accounts. The username of a student gives access to the game only.

 

8. Changing the Password of the Main User Account

The password of the main user account can be changed by logging into the program and going to User Management. 

 

9. Competition Schedule

1. One week before the competition starts, all teachers who have signed up for the competition will receive an email with a username for the school's main account, a personal password and instructions.

2. By playing during the competition time, a class collects points.

3. The Hall of Fame with each class's points will be updated daily after 2 pm.

4. On each Monday the previous weekly prize will be drawn.

5. The competition ends on Jun 1, 2018 at 2 pm. The 10 classes with the most points from the Little Monkeys category and the 10 classes with the most points from the Junior Monkeys category will both go to the finals!

6. The main prize is drawn among the finalists on the next Tuesday after the competition has ended. 

 

10. Collecting Points 

Classes collect points by doing activities in the 10Monkeys Math World program during the competition time. In this competition, only enthusiasm counts! Unfortunately, we cannot reveal any exact details on how points are calculated since we want to avoid any kind of misuse of the program during the competition.

Please note that the overall score in the competition is not the same as the points gathered from Math World. Each student must use his/her own account. The size of the class does not affect the chances of winning in the competition.

 

11. End of the Licence Time 

Access to the free program will end when the competition ends. After this, access to the activities will be locked. The teachers will still have access to the application by the same login information used during the competition even after the competition has ended. The same user account can be re-activated by paying a licence fee. If the licence fee is paid, the user will have full access to the product.

 

12. Prizes and Winning

Changing weekly prizes

Two product prizes are drawn every week. Each week, the winners will be able to choose between two different alternatives. The week's prize can be seen on the competition website. The winners will be contacted personally.

One prize is drawn among 10 most active first and second grade classes, and the second prize is drawn among the 10 most active third and fourth grade classes. 

Main prize and final

The main prize of Number Rumble will be drawn after the competition has ended. 

The main prize of Number Rumble is a 12 months 10Monkeys Math World licence for the whole school and the winner's choice of either 5 Android tablets OR 5 Chromebook computers.

The 10 most active classes, the classes who have gained the most points, from both categories (all together 20 classes) go to the finals. The positioning of the class can be found at the Hall of Fame on the competition website. One main prize is drawn from among all finalists. In addition, the three classes from both categories who have gained the most points will win a year-long 10Monkeys Math World licence for the whole school.

The winners will be contacted personally.

The prizes can't be exchanged for money.

 

13. Executing the Draw and Possible Rejection

The draws are carried out by the Organizer. The name of the winner can be announced on the Internet or in any other publication.

When the announcement of the winner or the prize is cancelled due to providing the Organizer with incorrect information or any other barrier, or if the Participant has violated the terms and conditions of the competition or the law, the Participant will be rejected from the competition. 

 

14. Responsibilities of the Organizer

The Organizer does not have any responsibilities toward the winner regarding damages that are caused or claimed to be caused by taking part in the competition or accepting and using the prizes. This does not affect the rights that are granted by the Consumer Protection Act.

The responsibilities that the Organizer has toward the Participants will never exceed the value or quantity of the prizes that are mentioned in the rules.

The Organizer has the right to make changes. The Organizer has the right to change the terms and conditions. The Organizer has the right to cancel the whole competition due to force majeure or any other overpowering event.
